šø Meet Thomas the Ta--, we mean Cat!! šø
"Hello, Iām Thomas and Iāve been asked to tell you a little bit about myself. No I'm not a train, but I sure am a tank! šŖ I used to live in a small farm area with my cat friends until someone saw just how sad and hungry I was. Everything went pretty quick being taken from my home and put in a place I didn't know, but as soon as I realised that these people were good people, I couldn't get enough of them! There is a lovely lady named Lauren that takes care of me and brings me lots of food, so thatās nice! I am still a little frightened of being here but things are slowly getting better, and as long as you talk to me and don't move too quickly, I am more than happy to come and say hello. I also love to lay on the bathroom floor while my foster humans take a shower!
I love my food (like I go crazy over food!) Thatās probably because I didnāt always have so much food and spent a lot of nights starving when I was living on the streets. My foster mum likes to pat me when Iām eating, she says a kitty with a full belly is always a happier one. Iām still a bit weary but I will feel much better being with someone that might have a lot of time to sit and talk with me. But then again, I've only been a house cat for a few short weeks so I like to think I'm doing okay.
I feel nervous hearing loud noises and kids so I think I would prefer to live in a quiet home just with adult humans. I live with a dog at the moment that doesnāt bother me much, but we havenāt had the chance to meet yet and have only smelt and heard each other through the door. I think once I was settled I might get along with other friendly cats, but it would take some patience and a slow introduction.
Iām positive there is someone out there that would like a chunky brown house tiger that needs a bit of loving š± And don't mind my ear and chubby Tom cheeks, I think it adds character, don't you?"
Thomas's carer has worked very hard to bring him out of his shell. He came to her as a very scared undomesticated male, who now snuggles with her, even going as far as giving head bops too!
Name: Thomas
Gender: Male
Age: ~5 years
Suburb: Brabham
Adoption fee: $160
Thomas's adoption fee includes sterilisation, vaccination, microchip, health check and he has also been treated for parasites.
Medical Note: Thomas has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which is a virus that can potentially affect his immune system. FIV+ cats can still live a long and healthy life, however they do need to be kept indoors to prevent the spread of disease, which is passed most commonly through deep bite wounds. FIV+ cats can live comfortably with other cats, even those who do not have FIV, however slow introductions are required to ensure they do not fight.
Our cats and kittens thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue animal āØ
