About Bear
G'Day, I'm Bear a chocolate Labrador and together with my brother Buddy we are looking for a loving household for a fresh start in life. I am bonded to KD4445 Buddy we come as the Dynamic Duo
Both Buddy and I came to SAFE as an owner surrender. It was through no fault of our own, as unfortunately our owners' working conditions changed.
I would say I am the sillier one out of the pair and love playing with rope toys. I am also very passionate about my bed. If my bed is ever moved I will hastily jump on it - it's just so comfy so why would I ever want to let it go!!
Although Buddy is great company in the yard, my world revolves around human interaction. So a home where people are around on a regular basis for cuddles and playful interactions is desirable.
I have definitely inherited the 'Labrador' gene when it comes to food. For this reason, I will require an owner willing to work with me to understand that food actually tastes better when you savour it!
I would greatly benefit from daily walks and lots of mental stimulation through obedience training. At present I am learning obedience, but don't fear an old dog can always learn new tricks, we just have to work together as a team 😊 Although much to my disgust, it is thought that treat training may not be the best option as the minute I smell food all my concentration goes out the window. But luckily, I am a lover of attention so should respond well to positive reinforcement.
Buddy and I have big hearts with lots of love to give. And when I say LOTS, I mean LOTS! Especially when left for long periods of time as we can get over excited for attention. So, it is recommended we are adopted by a family with slightly older kids.
We have been outdoor dogs, but definitely would not mind a family willing to spoil us with an indoor lifestyle. It just may take us time to understand the difference between inside and outside manners.
We are both prone to helping out in the garden even without request, so when left unattended we require lots of toys to keep us entertained.
We are loving and loyal companions.
I CAN FLY TO PERTH!
Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth.
