About Dixie
Dixie is a 2year old Wolfy mix. She was saved from a country Pound in the middle of outback NSW after wandering for a while.
Dixie has a beautiful nature , typical of a Wolfy mix and loves being spoiled
She is gorgeous colour and has a long soft coat and is obviously lapping up her change of lifestyle since leaving the pound . Dixie had a lovely makeover when she reached her foster carer.
We have no idea how she would be with cats
Dixie is now desexed and vaccinated and ready for her new home
She is currently being fostered in an only dog situation and is content with that as her foster carer works from home so doesnt leave her much. Dixie can however howl if left for long periods . She is fine with other dogs out on a walk and is housetrained
When in the pound we were told she was protective of her food around other dogs, but we have seen no evidence of this. Dixie is currently living with a little girl and is very good with her. Dixie is big and boisterous but respectful of small children.
Dixie is a lovely companion and bonds well with all people. She like dogs but we feel she may chase smaller ones. A home where she isnt left when everyone works will suit her best so familys who work form home or young active retirees would be perfect
Dixie has a shedding coat and would not suit anyone with allergies in the family she weighs around 26kilos and is tall and long legged and likes to stretch out on the whole lounge rather than curl up in a ball
If there is another dog in the family we would need Dixie to meet them , but we dont see it being a problem as long as they are fed seperately
Dixie is in foster care in Hinton in the Hunter Valley

We require an initial application and then if a dog seems a match we can arrange a meet and greet at a local park or the foster carers home. If the meet is successful we then arrange a yard check and if that is satisfactory we require full payment on picking up the dog.
We then give a 2 week trial and if in that time it is not working we will refund all but $50 for admin costs. We also require that the adopter returns our dogs back to us at any time in its lifetime (without a refund) for us to rehome.
