About Angel ~ 6mo Kelpie X (On Trial 30/10/20)
Angel is a 6month old female Kelpie x with a BIG personality. She is super affectionate and loves just being around people. Tufty, affectionately named because of her gorgeously soft, fluffy ear tufts, is a delightful girl that will require a special home. Please be sure to read this ad in full before applying!
Angel was born profoundly deaf, which of course doesn’t bother her at all but does add an extra element of complexity to her training. In saying this, Angel is learning sign language really well and now sits patiently for her meals, sits on command and is fully toilet trained so can signal when she needs to be let outside. The main focuses of her training at the moment are to do with her vocalising, as she can bark if she can’t see her humans and gets upset if she is left outside even if she has the company of other dogs. We have been working on this throughout her time in foster care and is important for her training to continue in her new forever home. Angel will need to go to a new home with someone with deaf dog experience.
Angel also needs to go to a home with another tolerant dog as a companion, which is most important as she will continue to learn ‘how to dog’ from them and will be comforting for her when she has to be left alone without humans. She has also grown up around cats.
Angel exhibits normal puppy behaviours so can be a bit nibbly towards other dogs and people when playing, even though she loves kids this means she would be better suited to a family with children over 8 years of age. Her new home must have previous experience with deaf dogs and have another dog living within the home. These elements are not negotiable and must be present in Angels perfect forever home.
Despite her extra complexities, Angel is certain to win over the hearts of anyone she meets. She is extremely cuddly, happy, friendly and playful and will absolutely thrive in a loving family. She loves playing in water, chasing other dogs around and carrying toys wherever she goes.
Please allow up to 3 days for your application to be reviewed and her foster carer will be sure to get back to you with the outcome.
Fostered in Metford 2323, you can contact her foster carer Lucy for more information

Angel’s adoption fee is $550 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments and micro chipping.
