About Bindi ~ 4.5yr Bull Arab~ On Trial 8/11/20
Hi I’m Bindi and I’m a friendly and well-behaved 4 and a half year old Bull Arab x girl. Yes sure I can hear you thinking “oh another Bull Arab up for adoption” but you haven’t met one as exceptionally pretty and sweet as me !! I’m a very tall girl (likely part Great Dane) with long legs, beautiful brindle markings and big soft eyes. I’m actually blind in one eye but this lack of vision doesn’t dampen my enthusiasm at all.
Because I love people so much I’m after a home where I’m welcome inside and I can be included in your family routine and outings. I’ve never been an inside dog as my tail wags like a stock-whip whacking things accidentally - but I would truly love to be an inside dog so can you please train me so that I can spend more time inside with you?! In my foster home I love to lay right at the back door with my paws inside so that I can watch what my foster dad is up to. When I come inside I get super excited and furniture-surf so that’s where you’re going to need to do some indoor lead-training with me - but I’m worth it right?
I’m inquisitive meeting new people and I love a pat from them. I’m pretty active and in my foster home I’m enjoying two walks a day that I’d love to continue in my furever home. I enjoy car rides so will happily be your co-pilot on short or even long trips in the car. I’m good with kids but would be best suited to a home with kids older than about 12 years as my enthusiastic tail-wagging will likely whack little kids right at their head level ! Whoops sorry! I would also suit a couple without kids - especially those that love and are experienced with large dogs.
I have great basic obedience training (sit, stay) and am very well behaved around food. I used to live with two dogs and a cat but since being in foster care I’ve been an only dog and I love the attention. I’m so people focused that I’m pretty happy being an only dog. However, if you’re experienced with managing large dogs in a multi-dog homes, and if you have a social, large female dog then I may suit too.
I love playing ball with you and enjoy a good game of tug-of-war. I’d be thrilled with a medium to large sized yard to play fetch in and to stretch these long legs of mine. Because I’m such a tall girl I’ll need 5 foot fencing and gates - I’m so content once I’ve settled into a new home that I’m not really interested in escaping. When you’re at home my most favourite thing is to follow you around like a shadow - watching what you’re doing every step of the way!
I really am a total sweetheart so if you want to find out more about me then email Jo on rescuepooch75@gmail.com or you can fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://form.jotform.co/82217742684866 Bindi is in foster care near Raymond Terrace (north of Newcastle).
Bindi’s adoption fee is $300 which covers her desexing, vaccination and microchipping. She has also been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Medical notes
Bindi lost vision in one eye due to an untreated condition as a young dog. Since coming into foster care we have had her vet checked and the vet confirms that her blind eye doesn’t cause her pain. Due to her being blind in one eye she can move her head fast when she hears noises on her blind side causing her to look startled at times. Her new family should be empathetic with this and introduce her new things on her sighted-side.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
