About Empoleon
Hi my name is Empolean but my friends call me Empy for short. The first thing you will probably notice about me are my enormous, beautiful eyes. My foster mum says the eyes are the window to our soul and she says the size of my eyes directly match the size of my heart and soul.
I am a young boy who is looking for a very special home as I have some extra special needs. I am sweet natured, affectionate and a little bit cheeky, I am a teenager after all! I am looking for quiet, loving home with patient adults and mature children if you have kids who will understand that I need some extra special care. I am learning to trust people and doing extremely well on this front however you will need to be patient with me and allow me to have some time to get to know and trust you before we can be the very best of friends. Once we have achieved this I will shower you in affection as I have recently discovered the joy of cuddles, pats, scratches and smooches which I just can't get enough of from my foster mum especially when I am all snuggled up with her. The other thing I love more than life and catnip and desperately want (need) to have in my forever home is at least 1 friendly cat brother or sister but the more the better in my opinion as I am a cat's cat. I eagerly made friends with my foster cat brothers and just adore spending time with them as I really don't like to be alone. If my future cat brother/sister is young enough to want to play with me that would be a bonus as I do enjoy cat play!
Other than snuggles and my fur friends, I do enjoy hiding in drawers, jumping out from behind walls to surprise my foster family, nose bops and food wise I like chicken and pork. I am not a big fan of seafood.....blah stinky yucky stuff! I am also a very tidy boy using my litter tray like a super star.
Now I mentioned earlier that I have some special needs. This is because when I arrived at the Cat Haven I had a nasty injury but all the kind people helped me to have a surgery called a femoral head excision to save my left hind leg. In short I will never represent Australia in the high jump and I walk with a bit of a limp which might be with me for life. But the surgery hasn't stopped me enjoying life, clambering around on things or playing chasey with my foster cat brothers. However it does mean I am not suitable to be in a home with small, grabby or rough children who might inadvertently hurt me when handling me.
So now that you know all of the above about me, is there a special forever place in your heart and home for me?
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
