BEHAVIOURAL: Ongoing training and patience needed.
Meet Miss Marley. She is our cute and funny little teddy bear. Marley is finally learning what it is to be cuddled, walked regularly and spoilt since being rescued by CK Rescue. She is super cute and quite a small stocky girl. She loves being around her people and getting cuddles and being a part of all activities alongside her family. She had little life experience and wasn’t very loved in her old home and because of this she needs a special family to really show her how great life is and be patient and continue training her. She gets very upset when anyone leaves the house or if she is put outside. She has only been left alone a couple of times for about an hour and she seems to be fine as long as she has some toys and a window to look out of. (She LOVES looking out the window and checking what's happening in the street). We think Marley doesn't necessarily need someone home 24/7 but her new owners might need to work up to leaving her alone for a full work day. She should live in a house that allows pets on the furniture and in the bed as she likes to jump up and sleep with the humans. She is very very snuggly! She would benefit from some basic training classes or time spent behavioral training with her owners.
TRAINING: Marley is toilet trained however will need more indoor training. She knows sit down but no other commands and she will run outside if doors are left open. She likes to grab shoes if she is very excited/playful but will let go if you tell her to drop it. She hasn’t had much life experience or training and she will benefit from a patient, experienced owner who can put some time into teaching her some manners.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Very active! Needs daily walks and lots of playtime. She can be calm if the people in the house are calm and has some days where shes happy to lay in bed all day.
OTHER DOGS: Marley is dog friendly. She has played with other dogs however they get her very excited and it's difficult to calm her down so if she moves in with other dog she will need to learn how to be calm.
CATS: Unsure, she has met a cat while on a walk and tried to chase it but we stopped her. Probably best not to live with cats.
KIDS: She would be great with older kids, maybe 10 years and and up as she can be a bit rough sometimes and jumps up when she’s excited.
ON LEASH: Needs lots of leash training. She pulls very hard and likes to walk wherever she wants. She walks better in backstreets where it’s quiet but the busier and more exciting it gets, the harder she is to handle.
NEEDS & REQUIREMENTS: Please read her specific needs here and answer to yourself if you think you can meet her requirements:
• Continued training and on leash training
• A home with no cats
• Owners willing to be patient and teach her manners
• Active home and a big part of the family’s lives
Medical notes
Marley has been prone to get rashes on her stomach. She will need to be monitered and further treatment may need to happen in the future.
