About Lucky
Lucky is a distinguished gentleman full of wisdom and intelligence. He is sweet, sensitive and incredibly tuned into the world around him. He picks up on the slightest clues and hints to quickly learn commands, always trying his best to prove what a great pet he can be.
Lucky is the perfect balance. He isn’t overly needy, but loves to be in the company of his humans, following them from room to room so they never get lonely. He’s quite happy entertaining himself, sleeping or playing with his toys. Squeaky toys, in particular, are his favourite. It doesn’t matter what type, if it squeaks, Lucky loves it. He hopes his new family has lots of squeaky toys waiting for him when he arrives home. Any other toy simply won’t do. Except for fluffy cushions – beware!
Lucky is very smart, has great recall and even knows ‘on your bed’. He is perfectly toilet-trained and walks wonderfully on a lead. He is still learning not to bury his favourite foods in case someone steals it! Around the house he is comfortable and very at-ease, but outside he isn’t too comfortable around small dogs and noisy children. Further socialisation may be needed to help him adjust.
Lucky is a kind and gentle soul with beautiful grey frosty face, the softest fur and handsome roman nose. He will suit an adult household who is looking for a canine companion to complete their family.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
