About Freddie
My name is Freddie and I’m a handsome little fellow.
Im a 2 year old kelpie x border collie. I am a failed working dog (but please don’t hold that against me).. the good news is that I’ve really gotten used to the comforts of home being able to snooze in a comfy bed and getting waited on hand and foot.. getting yummy food and lots of pats in exchange for being a smooch is just the way I like it! I really would be more than happy to be a lap dog if given the opportunity (for some reason my meanie foster mum has a rule of no dogs on the lounge, but I have snuck onto the lounge a few times and I’m not ashamed to say that I like it!).
When I came into care I was a really sad and scared little boy – I had never been in a house before. It took a little while for me to decompress and get used to my new surroundings. Once I started to feel better my affectionate and goofy side started to come out. I love going on walks and having a good sniff. A quiet home with adults and no little people would be the best for me as sudden movements and loud noises can scare me a bit. I’d be happy being an only dog so I can have all of your attention, or I would also be happy with a friend (at the moment I have a foster sister who is a border collie cross who is a confident girl and has been showing me the ropes). I would really prefer if you are around most of the time and at home a bit so I’m not only own too long. I’m more than happy snoozing next to you when sitting down with a cup of coffee watching the tv or follow you around but I do love getting about for a walk, and the more pats the better!
I am crate trained and sleep in the crate of a night. I’ve really done well with that thing called toilet training and haven’t had any accidents inside. My foster mum says I walk well on the lead too.

3. If your are successful, one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you are welcome to return the dog (the more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be retunded to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.
**PLEASE NOTE: WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US BEFORE FILLING IN OUR ONLINE ADOPTION FORM**.
We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
