About Saguaro
Hello, I am Saguaro. I am large, in charge & looking for a forever home! I was living on the streets but after being lured with food I am now in search of a home and someone who can help me learn to be part of a family after being alone. It won't take much, just a bit of patience, understanding, and love while I get to know you. I hope I can find someone who will take the care with me that I need to let out the charming and smoochy man inside.
For the first few days in my foster home I maintained a safe distance from people and hissed a bit if they got too close, but after almost two weeks I grew trusting enough to come out of my comfort zone. It was new and confusing, but I figured out that cuddles are amazing! I was so enthusiastic the first time, I was tripping over myself to get pats and kept meowing and meowing for more. Neck scritches are the best, and I will gently groom hands to show my love. If I need some attention I will dramatically announce it and come over to see you, purring immediately.
I'm a pretty relaxed cat usually, I like to look out the window and sleep close to people, but I also like to have a play with a toy on string if someone's moving it around.
For now, I haven't been introduced to dogs or kids. I think I'd be happier without bouncy dogs or kids that won't respect my space, because I am still learning to be a housecat. I have met some cats, and though we're still being properly introduced, I'm not fussed by them and don't mind them coming in to see me. I've looked at a dog through a door, and they made me nervous, but I could ignore them.
I must be an indoor cat because of my FIV status as well as to protect my pale nose and ears from skin cancer.
I have eyes as bright and golden as the sun and a personality to match. Come meet me in Girrawheen, or see me in a video call!
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
