About Georgie
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19 and travel being restricted, I can only be adopted in NSW or ACT.
Hi, Georgie is my name and I am seven years old. My owner is moving overseas and it is too far for me to go with him so I am looking for a new home.
As you can see from the photos I am well loved and a little bit over weight but with some exercise and a little less food I will trim down.
I have had some basic obedience training so I can sit, stay, drop/down, come and will retrieve a ball. I also walk well on a halti.
My ideal home is as an only dog with people who have recently had a German Shepherd and understand my amazing breed. I haven't been around little humans and because I am a large dog I would be better in a home with teenage children. Also no cats or pocket pets
So, if you think you could be my new family, please select the "Enquire about this Pet" and give me some information about your family and then the Rescue people will try to call you and then I will need an application form to be filled out so I can help find the best home.
Medical notes
Georgie is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
