About Sparky
Hey there, the name is Sparky!
I came to BARC as a stray and no one came to take me home, so here I am looking for my new home.
I have earned the nickname 'Turtle' at the shelter because I love to get in under blankets and sleep all tucked in. Sometimes i'll even get up for a walk and take my blanket with me, it's absolutely adorable.
I am such a sweet cat who is just bursting at the seams with love and affection. I am social and do well with the other cats at the shelter.
I can sometimes be a little bit shy, and when I am feeling that way I will retreat under the nearest blanket to make myself feel safe. But if you come over to me and talk to me in my safe place I will show you what a smoochy boy I am!
My new home will need to be a quiet and stable environment, that has lots of love and understanding to offer me whilst i adjust to my new surroundings. I would be fine around quiet children who are old enough to understand when I am feeling scared or overwhelmed.
If you think this little turtle is the missing piece of your family then call BARC on (03) 54412209 to book your essential meet and greet appointment.
Please note that we will not be accepting appointments from stage 4 lock down areas and may not be in a position to respond to all email inquiries.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
