About Gemma
Gemma is a 10 month old bull arab x. She was surrendered by her 94 year old owner who said she was too full on for her and was worried she would knock her over. Gemma is learning good doggy manners however she is inclined to jump up and mouth your hand when she is initially excited. She is easy to train and learnt to sit, drop and shake hands in one day. She tries very hard to be good and I am working on rewarding her when she is calm and ignoring her when she gets too excited.
Gemma walks very well off lead and sticks with you. She is great with other dogs of all sizes and will 'back off' quickly when another dog lets her know shes annoying them.
She has excellent recall and knows her name - she enjoys routine.
She loves bush walking and doesn't mind a paddle - she would love to go to a dog park or the beach everyday.
She is full of life and has lots of love to give.
She would love a home with another older but still active dog who can teach her to improve her doggy manners and to play with her and keep her company.
She isn't a barker and is coping being outdoors with access to indoors.
She would enjoy being part of a family with older children or teens that can continue to work on training her to be calm and polite.
Gemma would do well with a confident dog owner that can train her and encourage her to shine - she will be an amazing intelligent well trained dog in the right hands and with a bit of time to mature. She is fully grown and is small-medium size.
