About Roxie
Our beautiful overgrown baby Roxie is ready to start her next chapter in life. She is such a great dog. She isn’t small and will not be even large. She will be extra, extra large! Roxie needs space to roam and be free. She is very dominant during play and just doesn’t stop until she has won or worn herself out, so we think she would need a male companion in her yard, and not as hyper as her but definitely as energetic as her. Her furry friend will need to be patient and tolerant as Roxie will not be the submissive one. She is around children of all ages and her bond is very strong with her human, dog savvy 3 yr old foster sister. They share the same physical energy and they just go and go and go... and go! But when the running and chasing and fetching and tugging is over they curl up together on the couch.
She will need somebody who is willing to do a lot of training with her so she becomes the best for her family as she is going to be huge. She is very gentle when coming to eat treats from hands. Her manners have come along beautifully. She is great on her lead.
Roxie has so much personality! She can be a bit stubborn, she will give a bit of a dissatisfied growl when being moved on the couch whether it’s to take her to her crate or just to pull her close but comes along as she knows she will have something yummy to chew on in her crate. She just wants to be loved and needs the right human and doggy companion to guide her through it all. Yes she messes up and given her size, they are huge messes! Plastic plant pots will be used for a toy whether they are full (huge bonus and mess if they are!) or not and no issues on the size of the pot either! She will tug a towel off the line if she can to lay on in the sun. She will dominate the lounge space with her 30+ toys and squeak them so loud over and over again. Toilet training is a work in progress.
She is very particular about her breakfast and dinner times and barks until she gets it, 8am and 5-6pm.
Roxie is a diamond in the rough and her new family will be very lucky to have found such a great girl as long as they keep investing the time, love and energy into her. Toys, toys and more toys is also a must. When you think you have heaps- go out and double up! As mentioned, it is essential that you have another dog in the home to help Roxie continue to grow and learn and become the best pup she can be!
