Gee profile:
Meet Gee,
He is a 4 year old, 45kg German shepherd ready to move on to his new suitable family. He loves long walks and a good day out is trekking for miles through the bush exploring the fresh open air.
His other favourite thing in life is chasing after the ball where he is learning to also bring it back and give it up so it can be thrown again which he loves.
He understands some basic commands but would benefit from further training to proof these skills in different environments and make them more reliable, as well as enjoying learning new skills he can show off.
He is super affectionate and loves a cuddle and thinks of himself as an oversized lap dog but this is only with his family and people he has gotten to know really well. With strangers/ new people he has not met before he can be stand offish and not interested in the beginning but is easily won over with allowing him to approach and not rushing in on him.
He might look like a tough big black wolf, but in his heart his the biggest softy out there. His been great around the working dogs his met so far and have had no dramas with him living with other dogs. He can be playful at times.
Travels great in the car, tho doesn't jump into high vehicles.
Has had great house manners in foster care, has learnt to come inside and place on his bed and not move. He loves coming inside and like most shepherds he just loves spending time with his handler.
Not cat tested, training would be required to settle him into a cat home to learn to not chase the cat. Highly doubt he would harm a cat, just chase in the beginning.
Has met horses and has no dramas around them.
Gee suffers from 'auto immune disease 'which is what is affecting the region around his eyes atm. This condition is permanent in the dog and he will require treatment throughout his life to keep on top of it so it doesn't flare up and get to this degree of bad.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND DOING YOUR RESEARCH AND TALKING TO A VARIETY OF VETS BEFORE COMMITTING.
But with regular treatment and a species appropriate raw diet Gee can live a long happy active healthy life.
