About Monica ~ Cattle x Ridgeback(On Trial 02/08/20)
Monica is a beautiful Cattle x Ridgeback puppy. She is a feisty little bundle of energy who loves nothing more than running crazily about the back yard chasing her foster brothers and sister. Once she’s used up all that cattle dog energy, she turns into the biggest snuggle bug you’ll ever meet.
We are specifically looking for a dog-savvy home with a large yard and family members who have experience with working breeds. With Monica’s energy levels you will need time, patience and commitment to stay on top of her need for mental and physical stimulation to ensure she grows into a well-rounded adult.
She would suit a variety of homes - a single person who wants a best mate, a couple without kids or a family with confident kids over 12 years of age. She sleeps inside snuggled with the other puppies so will need to be welcome inside in her forever home.
In her perfect home Monica will need to have another dog who is patient as well as someone who has the time to train her and hone those working dog skills she has inherited from the cattledog side of her family or she has the potential to become naughty due to boredom.
Monica will grow to be a medium size dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. It would also be good if someone in the household doesn't work full time.
Monica needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. You will need good fencing 5-6 ft high with no small gaps, unfortunately rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire) is not suitable. Its very important to note that these puppies will grow to be medium-large adults. For this reason, homes with small yards, courtyards and apartments will not be successful.
As Monica is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens as she will need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old. Unfortunately this means that we will not allow interstate adoption for Monica and her siblings at this time.
Monica's sisters: Pheobe and Rachel are also available for adoption.
For more information or to meet Monica, please contact Beth at beths-foster-pups@outlook.com and you can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If successful, you will be contacted by one of our amazing carers within 48-72hours to discuss the next steps :) We ask for your patience during this time, and thankyou for taking the time to complete an application.
Monica's adoption fee is $600 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. Monica is in care in Awaba, NSW (Lake Macquarie area).

(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
