About River ~ 10yr Old GSD (On Trial 04/08/20)
Hi! I'm River. I’m the sweetest girl you’ll meet in a long time. I love just hanging with my people, sleeping in the sun, a bit of a play with the tennis ball and I love my food.
I’m 10 years old and my past is a bit of a mystery. My owner sadly passed away and I was fed but not talked to much by one of her relatives for a while. Now I’m in foster care, I love hanging with the family. I like a sleep in, sometimes my old hips make it a bit hard to get up in the morning but my foster carers are giving me some powder in my dinners that might help with that.
Right now, I’m living with another German Shepherd, a very large bossy cat and a few chooks. I enjoy the company of the dog and give the wide cat a wide berth. My foster people say I’m a bit too interested in the chooks so they don’t roam with me.
I sleep inside at night and would need to be able to keep doing that; I’m an old girl. My days are spent hanging outside with the dog; sleeping in the sun. Don’t mind a walk on the lead either, but I do pull a bit.
I like pleasing my people and I’m always willing to sit, down, shake hands when I’m asked and I wait for my dinner. My foster people say even though I’m 10, you could probably teach me some tricks with the right treats.
If you think you can be my perfect forever home, please send through an application to adopt me by following this link to the adoption questionnaire https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt.
If you like big dogs but don’t want to worry about whether I’ll jump on your visitors or over the fence, then I’m your girl. Email gillianweatherall@gmail.com to organise to meet me. Im located in East Maitland NSW (west of Newcastle NSW) and my adoption fee is $100 which includes microchip, vaccinations and desexing. Im totally up to date with worm and flea treatments.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
