About Bear (bonded with Rexie)
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19 and travel being restricted, Bear and Rexie can only be adopted in NSW or ACT.
Bear is a full black stock coated male German Shepherd who with his fur partner Rexie are in care at Kurri Kurri, NSW.
Bear is a playful and loving shepherd who has grown up with Rexie and who is very connected to her. Both dogs look for each other and Bear is very protective of Rexie.
Rexie is the more shy female black and tan shepherd and she needs a caring and patient owner who will let her gain confidence and allow her time to trust and connect with her new family.
Both are in excellent health and come desexed, fully immunised, microchipped and flea and worm treated.
Both are house trained and gentle natured dogs. Best suited as the only dogs in the home and preferably children over the age of twelve or a retired couple wanting the companionship of two loving dogs.
Bear has not been tested with cats or pocket pets.
Rexie's profile is here: https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/807464

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
