About Chloe
Chloe is a beautiful girl who although is still quite aloof, she is gaining confidence with humans ever day. She loves to find spots where she is able to sit up tall and observe the vagaries of the humans around her.
While Chloe is gaining her confidence, she does need a family that is patient and would do well in a home that has a confident cat that will show her the ropes while keeping her company. Chloe also would need a family that would give her time and patience while she settles in, finds her feet and her confidence. Chloe has also been in foster care with two doggy foster sisters. Chloe would do well in a home where there is a quiet and gentle dog who would be happy to show her the ropes and that she would be allowed to snuggle with them.
Chloe has had nine teeth removed due to FORLs so please read the medical notes.
Before applying to meet one of our cats, please ensure that you:
- have the agreement of all members of the household to adopt a Cat,
- have your landlords permission to keep a pet. More information on what to do is available at https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/housing/renting/applying-for-a-rental-property-or-room/pets-and-renting
- you have all the necessary bits and pieces to welcome your new family member, starting with a cat carrier to bring them home, a litter tray, litter, food and bowls as well as a bed, toys and scratchers, and
- you are ready to welcome them home NOW. We are unable to hold a cat for you if you are not ready to adopt.
IMPORTANT NOTE - COVID19 PRACTICES
Due to the current lockdown in Melbourne we once again need to do things a little differently!
Once you have applied for a cat in our care our fostercarer will contact you by telephone. If at the end of this discussion you would like to process we will then arrange an online meet n greet with the carer and cat.
If you think this cat might be your PURRFECT match we will be utilising our premises at Neko HQ in Preston for the final meet n greet and if agreed adoption as our carers are unable to have guest in their homes. We ask that only one person from the family attend, and that all COVID safe practices are followed to ensure your health and that of our volunteers as well as the general community.
We thank you for your patience throughout this process

Medical notes
The adoption fee includes de-sexing, micro-chip, current vaccination, flea and worm treatment while in care.
Chloe has had nine teeth removed due to Feline Odontoclastic Resorption Lesions (FORLs). These lesions cause sensitivity when eating and can cause the cat to salivate profusely. They can also cause teeth to fall out or portions of the tooth crown be missing. Lesions can also be diagnosed via x-ray as they can affect the roots of teeth. When cats have had these lesions at a young age like Chloe, they can return again and affect more teeth. Chloe is currently eating a variety of wet and dry food without any trouble.
No other known health issues.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue would like to help ensure you and your new companion/s have a long and happy life together. Please be advised that if you should find that you are not a purrfect match, or if you need to rehome your new pet at any stage of its life, Maneki Neko Cat Rescue will take the cat back into care and find a new home.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue provides a 7 day health warranty on all adoptions. Although all our cats and kittens are health checked prior to adoption, sometimes the stress of a new environment can upset their immune system.
