About Homer
**PLEASE READ HOMERS PROFILE IN FULL INCLUDING HIS ONGOING MEDICAL NEEDS BEFORE APPLYING**
I'm Homer, but you can call me 'good boy' if you like - that's what everyone keeps calling me, and I really like that! I don't remember much before I came to the shelter but what I do know is that now I have the most amazing foster family ever! I love a good cuddle and will jump up on the couch for cuddles at any given opportunity.
I was born with a deformity in both of my front legs, they don't hurt one bit but they make me look a little different from all the other dogs I see- I don't mind though as I think they make me look extra special!
My favourite thing is the whole world is playing fetch and sitting on my human's lap while watching TV. I also enjoy watching my foster mum cooking in the kitchen in hope that she will drop something on the floor for me! I am obsessed with doggie toys and am looking for a new home with a big toy box that is just for me.. I especially like the squeaky ones!
I would love a new home where I am the only pet as I love my humans soooo much that I don't like to share them, I promise you that I will bring so much joy and happiness to your life that you will need no other furkids!!
Homer has Cushing's Disease and requires daily medication and frequent blood tests. Homer will require blood tests and medication for the rest of his life.
As a result of Homers Cushing's Disease he also has high blood pressure and requires regular testing to monitor this. This condition is not currently stable and the wonderful vet team at SCAR have been working hard to find the right medication to help Homer feel his best self.
The vets at SCAR Community Animal Hospital have even measured my legs up and and have fitted me with some special leg braces to help me get around easier.
I may not be in perfectly good shape, but the nice people here say I'm perfect to them just the same and that soon, I'll be able to be adopted by my very own family who will look after me and love me. This makes me waggle every time I think of it!
