About Zephyr Uchello
We are currently allowed to operate under Stage 4 restrictions with a COVID plan, permits for our volunteers and all necessary safety precautions. This does mean that we are even slower than usual at responding. Please be patient and stay safe.
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION OF ZEPHYR PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:

Zephyr is an absolutely gorgeous dog who will be rehomed as an only dog. And no cats either please. As some of you would know he has been at death’s door and returned.
Zephyr is a delight to have around the house and is fine when left home alone. He is not destructive or naughty and will just sleep on his bed while you are out. He is very intelligent, gentle and loving and loves to bury his head into you for a snuggle. He loves to lie around close to you during the day but stays in his bed all night.
Zephyr has a great personality and a very expressive face. He has the capacity to let you know what he wants and communicates by sitting in front of you with a quizzical face, making talking sounds. He would flourish in a gentle household where he can have lots of company and affection. He does have some mild separation anxiety if you leave him alone outside his normal surroundings, will bond intensely, and you will need to want a dog who will make you his whole world.
Zephyr is an absolute sweetheart and a delightful companion. Whoever adopts this wonderful boy will be lucky indeed. They themselves will be special people for responding to this boy’s extra needs. He is generally fine with other dogs but would rather not share you.
We would prefer to rehome him in the Melbourne area.
Thank you to Lyndsay of Paw Focus Photography for the fantastic photos of Zephyr.

Victorian Dog Rescue offers the services of our trainer free for six weeks if needed for any settling in issues.
All dogs that come into the care of Victorian Dog Rescue are tested for heart worm.
Victorian Dog Rescue has a six-week full refund policy and a lifetime takeback guarantee that includes 50 per cent of the adoption fee refunded.
Medical notes
He has diabetes from his Cushings which was caused by an adrenal tumour. The adrenal tumour has been surgically removed, so he no longer has Cushings but he will have diabetes for the remainder of his life.
His new family will understand that his dietary intake will need to be strictly controlled and he will need daily injections. The tumour removed by the specialist surgeon was malignant and there is always the possibility that it may have already spread particles. We have him booked in for an ultrasound at the end of November.
Weighs 32kgs
Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
