About Pearl
All About Me and My Unique Personality:
Pearl came into care with what we believe is her half sister Rachel (a lovely short hair calico). While the two don't seem to be bonded (OK to be adopted separately), if you're considering two kitties these girls get along well. They can be adopted as a pair if desired. So please let us know. You'll see Rachel in some photos below - she's the smaller short-haired cat.

Hi, I'm Pearl! I was very timid when I came into foster care, and it took me a long time to get used to my foster mum. I'm still scared of sudden movements, loud noises, or sometimes some imagined threat… but I have also learned to enjoy warm laps and purry snuggle times. A lot of the time if a human tries to approach and pat me, I will run away, but if I'm already settled and relaxed I almost always welcome pats and cuddles from familiar human friends.
When my foster mum is being lazy and listening to the radio in bed on weekend mornings, I like to climb up and snuggle with her for purry pats. I'm getting used to being picked up, and most of the time I start purring when picked up.
I'm young and have kitten energy, so I like zooming around, pouncing on things and chasing toys. Mostly I have energy in the morning and evening, and am happy to nap somewhere comfy for the rest of the day. I'm not very clingy, so I'm ok with chilling out in another part of the house. But in the evenings if you're on the couch I might come over for some lap time. My foster mum thinks that with the support of a loving and patient forever family, I will be a wonderful lap cat and companion.
I'm vaccinated, desexed, and looking for my perfect forever home.

Pop Quiz!
* Purring style? I think I'd call my purring style "hyperventilating underwater pigeon"
* Do you ask for pats, or just wait for them? I sometimes approach and nuzzle ankles or climb on laps, but I almost always welcome pats when I'm already relaxed and napping somewhere comfy.
* Litter box usage? I'm gold class, expert litter user. No accidents. Like most cats, I expect a well-maintained litter tray.
* Favourite pat / scritch spots? I love gentle head pats, jaw scritches and long gentle back pats.
* Favourite food? I'm not fussy. I'm a hungry growing kitty!
* Tummy rubs? If I'm very relaxed and sleeepy I sometimes enjoy gentle tummy rubs.
* Climbing? Not my scene, unless maybe food is involved. Is food involved?
My Ideal Home:
My ideal home would be with a family who can be gentle and patient if I'm scared, and will give me space when I want it. A quieter home where I can enjoy warm laps and pats would be great.
It's possible I will get very fluffy as I get older, and I might need regular brushing to prevent my fur from getting matted and unmanageable. I will need help from my loving family for this, and maybe even a summer fur trimming if my fluffy coat gets really out of hand!
What is Known About My Background:
We don't know much about Pearl (and Rachel) before they arrived at the RSCPA. We know they were brought to the RSPCA on the same day, by the same person, and seem to be the same age, so we're guessing they came from the same litter. They were both so timid and afraid at the RSPCA that they never got adopted!
Eventually both Rachel and Pearl came together to HAR, where they were brought into foster care in a home environment. With patience, love, and time, Pearl has started to learn that humans aren't so scary.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
I get along wonderfully with my (probably) half sister Rachel, and I got along well with another 6yo foster cat Laura. Both of them groo
