About Ralph
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Ralph
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to us from the local pound.
BREED: Kelpie X .PLEASE NOTE: Kelpies are high energy and highly intelligent being a working breed, so may need to be found a 'job' to make them feel fulfilled. They need a lot of exercise and get bored easily if their brains are not worked, so training is a must and varied activities essential for a happy dog. They are generally very social with adults and children and other dogs. They are very loyal but if the instinct is strong they may try to herd your children or pets. This is not a breed to leave all day in your back garden while you are at work.
ASSETS: Super sweet, friendly, well mannered, smoochy. Loves a belly rub!
FAVOURITE THINGS: LOVES to play ball! He'll happily play on his own but also loves fetch and return. Loves to run and play with other dogs.
OTHER ANIMALS: Friendly with other dogs he meets as long as they are friendly towards him. He's been introduced to cats and has been mostly well-mannered around them but would need gentle introduction and correction as he has a tendency to chase if enticed.
GENERAL INFO: Ralph is new to walking on the lead and is doing really well. He's learning commands and is a smart boy. He likes to have chew toys to keep him entertained (Kongs are his favourite). He is housetrained.
DISLIKES: Nothing so far!
HOME ESSENTIALS:
* A home where someone is home for a good part of the day on a permanent basis (not just through Covid 19) or can take him with them when they go out.
* Ralph needs an owner who will put in the time to give him the stability he needs. He needs someone who can guide him gently with positive reinforcement - schooled training is a must. Setting boundaries and training will produce the most awesome dog - he wants to learn and to please you. At least 2 good walks a day are essential to keep him happy.
* Ralph needs a good sized yard with a lawn, lots of things for him to sniff and play with, and space to run around to burn off his energy. Another similar sized dog would suit him well.
* Ralph needs to be allowed to be inside or out as he chooses, and to be included as part of the family. He needs a home where he's showered with love, can bond with his family and sleeps inside at night.
* Any children living in his home will need to be over 8 years old and dog-savvy - he is high energy and very bouncy.
If Ralph sounds like the boy for you, please send an enquiry and we'll be in touch soon.
