About Hunter
Update: Sir Hunter has gone on trial for Adoption! YAY!
Awoowo-wo-wo-wo-woah :) Husky speak for "Thank you awesome people for all of your enquiries. I've just selected a new family that hopefully provide all the Sunday Afternoon wines that I need hahaha. I've gone on trial for adoption - so I now have to be the perfect gentlemen for a couple of weeks and then I can be a ratbag after I am adopted (If I am adopted) :) Our Rescue Coordinators will be posting more dogs soon. Have an awesome weekend!"
---------------------------------
Yes – I’m a big Malamute X Husky! You may see my size and consider me to be the ‘tall-dark-and-mysterious-action-packed-man’ type; but, I am in fact more the speed of the ‘fine-wine-on-a-Sunday-afternoon-overlooking the valley’. You see, while I do enjoy a daily walk, I’d much rather bask on the sofa and shake hands with light conversation than partake in extreme cardio.
I am a 6-year-old man (as I’m a little too slow to be a boy anymore haha), in dog years that makes me a well experienced 45-year-old family man. I am very fond of children, terrified of cats and if you can tend to my breed’s minimum needs, by the end of a week I will be your newest snuggle-buddy.
I'm quite good at voicing my opinions on current events of the household. I also fancy singing of an evening. However, if left alone for days on end, I am also adept at finding possible escape routes, after all – it’s in the Husky side of me (of course – we won’t blame the malamute part of me… right?). I admit, I do have a few shortfalls.
One - I’m still mastering the etiquette of walking on lead.
Two - When it comes to sharing things like toys I still have plenty to learn here.
Three – Food. It’s all mine right? Don’t tease me as then I might become infuriated. The pro’s call this resource guarding. Bah-humbug. I call it a seafood diet. I see it – I wanna eat it. It’s simple right? Just don’t take it back off me – And I’ll try not to steal food from you. But make no promises! Hahaha.
And for my last downfall, I have sensitive paws. Who’d believe that? But, handling my paws and lifting my body make me very uncomfortable.
Now for the good points (and me showing off) I am a social butterfly among the humans and laissez-faire about other canines. In the dog park, I’m happy to cruise around the perimeters until I find a nice spot to lay and watch the hustle and bustle of park life.
If you believe you have what it takes to satisfy my needs, keep me confident and the well-mannered gentleman I am, then please enquire to Happy Huskies about becoming my new family! Thank you.
Adoption details
Happy Huskies Victoria Inc. (HHV) is a new Community Foster Care Network (CFCN). We are a friendly, dedicated, breed-passionate team of volunteers assisting with rescued, surrendered and/or abandoned Siberian Huskies. Collectively, we bring you more than 20 years experience in Rescue and Rehoming Siberian Huskies.
We do our best to match any of our Siberian Huskies available with their perfect forever home.
To do this we will speak with potential adoptees, we ask that an Expression of Interest Adoption form be completed, then, if needed, we may do a yard check to minimise any escape routes for the Siberian Husky. We then ask potential adoptees to meet the Siberian. If all goes well - the Adoptee family then pays the adoption fee, and starts a trial period.
Sometimes we can receive more than 40 applications for the one Siberian Husky. Which is fantastic for the Siberian. However, not so perfect for the families - as they miss out. We consider all applications before any Siberian Husky goes on trial. Please be patient with us. If you miss out, we're happy to keep your application for the next suitable Siberian that enters our Rescue Program.
For more information about our Adoption Processes, please send queries to us at by emailing support@happyhuskies.org.au. Thank you.
