About Luca
From Luca: "Dear awesome people looking for a husky. I actually have a prefect spot in a family that found me through PetRescue. I've been giving them so much sass. But, now a few days into my trial - and I'm doin' great. But thank you for applying for me. If my trial doesn't work, Happy Huskies will be in touch with you. Have an awesome day!"
------------------------------
Hello. I'm Luca and I'm a bit of a challenge! I'm looking for a home where I can be happy! I might be able to go with another dog - but I'd have to meet them a few times as I'm .. weeeell... I'm a little-bit-fuusy?
I've had a really rough year! My Rescue Group (Happy Huskies) have always done their best for me, but I may have some ongoing challenges. You see, recently I was sick. And I am better - but I still need eye ointment and probably still some more antibiotics and a couple more vet checkups (which the Rescue Group have been so damn awesome to provide for me).
My new forever family. Hmmmm now this is where I am really really picky. See, with my foster carers I've learned to just LOVE LOVE LOVE being an indoor dog. I know I'm a husky - but it's just a bit too cold for me to sleep outside. I am mostly crate trained (may need, ahem, a little more work there). But, I will prefer a very comfy spot to sleep - like, maybe your bed? It's okay. I won't mind if you take the couch! hehehe
My new forever family will beed to be home - alot. Please? Pretty please? And I'm not talking about just being home for covid-19! I mean, like, home, forever :) I promise I won't mind! No senior humans please (don't take this personally); and no children under 12 years old (there are reasons for this). I probably would suit an active young human couple (with at least one person staying home)- and, I need to meet you first.
Please add "NO cats, and NO other pocket pets" to my "NO" list. Sorry! But, I can't guarantee the safety of your non-dog pets.
Must have - tall, secure, strong, unbreakable and undiggible fences in your yard to keep me in - I won't try to escape because I'm bored - I'm happy to escape - just for fun! Can you catch me? :) :) :) Oh! I can dig under gates too hehehe
Honestly, I've had a few challenges in my young life, and, well, ummmm, I probably should have persons with a good amount of Siberian Husky experiene to take me on. Did I mention that I can escape? Houdini has nothing on me! hahaha
Apart from that, when I'm being good - I'm great. I'll give you lots of smooches, and sleep at your feet. Going for a walk? don't worry, I'm getting really good at working on lead. I'm also happy to go for a bit of a run! :) Sledding... well... I'm not up to that speed for running! But running for fun? Bring it!
I know my photos make me look sweet and deinty.. but thats only until the walking lead comes out! Oh oh oh I can play with water too. :) I am still learning how to be with another husky. Some, I'm okay with. I can be, umm, a little dominant?
Medical notes
Has had a few behaviour issues - possibly due to pain levels
Has had an eye problem - now healing
Adoption details
Happy Huskies Victoria Inc. (HHV) is a new Community Foster Care Network (CFCN). We are a friendly, dedicated, breed-passionate team of volunteers assisting with rescued, surrendered and/or abandoned Siberian Huskies. Collectively, we bring you more than 20 years experience in Rescue and Rehoming Siberian Huskies.
We do our best to match any of our Siberian Huskies available with their perfect forever home.
To do this we will speak with potential adoptees, we ask that an Expression of Interest Adoption form be completed, then, if needed, way may do a yard check to minimise any escape routes for the Siberian Husky. We then ask potential adoptees to meet the Siberian. If all goes well - the Adoptee family then pays the adoption fee, and starts a trial period.
Sometimes we can receive more than 40 applications for the one Siberian Husky. Which is fantastic for the Siberian. However, not so perfect for the families - as they miss out. We consider all applications before any Siberian Husky goes on trial. Please be patient with us. If you miss out, we're happy to keep your application for the next suitable Siberian that enters our Rescue Program.
For more information about our Adoption Processes, please send queries to us at by emailing support@happyhuskies.org.au. Thank you.
