About Rex
Please meet adorable Rex .... A German Shepherd born on 19th March, 2016, Rex is looking forward to finding his forever family.
Rex is an outgoing young man with a lovable personality. He has all of the wonderful traits of his breed and he is confident and very intelligent.
Rex is looking for a confident owner, who is prepared to continue his training. He will need a family who understand his need for stimulation - both physical and mental to ensure that he stays a well rounded guy.
He loves to be out for a walk and although he can pull on the lead through his excitement to be out and about, in a home environment and with consistent training, he should improve. To help with his continued training, we have included 3 x free training lessons in his adoption fee with thanks to Wyong Dog Training.
Rex is looking for an active family who are ready, willing and able to provide him with the exercise he needs. He will also require mental stimulation to keep his super smart mind fulfilled.
He is playful with other dogs and he gets along well with others - whether big or small! Testing has shown that he shows no interest in cats or pocket pets and with a proper introduction could be rehomed with cats and/or pocket pets in residence.
Rex loves to play and although he doesn't mean too, he may knock little people over accidentally and may not be suitable for families with very young children.
He shows no signs of seperation anxiety, however his new family need to be aware that if he is to be left alone for any long periods of time, he will need to be left with stimulation to stop him from becoming bored (staff can advise you of suggestions) He is showing slight signs of food aggression - however when arriving at the facility, he was very skinny and this could be contributing to this. If he is to be housed with another dog, he would need to be fed seperately at this stage.
While he shows no signs of being scared of loud noises, we would recommend he be allowed inside during thunder storms and fireworks where he knows he is safe.
Rex has shown that he is able to easily jump pool fencing and if left alone for long periods, may try to come and find you .... He will require very secure fencing in his new home and his new family should be aware that along with his active lifestyle, his grooming needs will be time consuming.
While Rex may seem like a hard task, if his new family are willing to give him all he needs, they will find themselves with a super loyal companion who will always be ready to please you and who will love you forever .... do you think that could be you?
Rex is a super affectionate boy and would make a super loyal companion for the right family. He would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family and involved in the day to day activities. He will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Rex's adoption fee is $600 and includes his desexing, lifetime registration and 3 x training lessons with thanks to Wyong Dog Training. He is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please give the facility a call on 43044350 to make an appointment and ask further questions.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide helps the facility to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home.
Once all of your questions have been answered, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the facility unless prior arrangements are made by management.
After the meet and greet, a yard check will be completed at your home to ensure that your home and yard is suitable for the kind of pet you are interested in. Please bring to your appointment photos of your fencing also showing all gates that attach to the house.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
