About Charlee Saltmarsh
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION OF CHARLEE PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:
https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/about-vicdrg/adoption-and-foster-application-forms.html
Please note: Charlee will be rehomed as an only dog to an adult family with no cats.
Charlee doesn’t believe there is such a thing as too many pats or scratches. The only time she doesn't like affection is when she is sleeping, and she will resource guard her bed, but what sensible person goes near a dog’s bed.
She would prefer you are around quite a bit as she does adore her humans. And she will be territorial so would like to be the only dog and for you not to have visiting dogs.
Charlee seems to have had a tough life and can be snappy in situations where she is uncertain. Once she feels safe with you she will adore you but she will probably always be wary of strangers. Her adopter will take their time and let her settle before they introduce her to their friends and expose her to too many unfamiliar places and people. She is generally okay with dogs she meets on her walks.
Charlee is house trained but can have the odd accident when she gets a little too excited, so she's looking for someone who has the time and patience to finesse her training. She's only a small girl so loud or scary noises can also be overwhelming. We have found the excitement/anxiety piddling settles as Charlee gains confidence but not for someone with pristine carpets.
This sweetie only needs a short daily walk but plenty of time cuddling on the couch in the evening.
If you are looking for a best friend who will love you without fail and who will stick by your side no matter how boring your chores are, Charlee Saltmarsh is the girl for you.
Thank you to Heather of Dixon Dog Photography for the fantastic photos of Charlee.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
