Hey guys, I'm Arya and I am the lady of the house. I was surrendered to OTC as my owner had to move and couldn't take me with. I am a big cuddly kitten at heart and gee do I love to play! I will even fetch. I can play on my own and I love a good cat tower and bell ball, oh, and I never scratch the furniture! I live with other cats and get along with them ok, but I do prefer male cats. I am litter trained and I'm very tidy lady naturally!
My favourite place is the bed, and the cupboard if I need time on my own, but of course I'll come out for my breakfast or dinner and then snuggle up to you while you relax. I sleep in the bedroom with my foster mum, and I'm always down for some snuggles, day or night! I am a very confident lady naturally and would do great with an outdoor enclosure as I love to explore.
I love people, take time to warm to other cats and I'm a little nervous with dogs, but with time I will be confident and relaxed in my home. I will do fine with a family or a companion on my own, just as long as I have a full food bowl, a warm bed, scratch tower and CUDDLES!
Please have your people contact my people if you want me to join your family.
Medical notes
I was tested for FIV/FELV upon intake, and was negative thankfully. I am an inside cat and OTC recommends I be kept inside or in an enclosure- roaming cats are neither safe, nor legal.
Adoption details
PLEASE NOTE - DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ADOPTION APPLICATIONS FROM OUTSIDE Queensland. All dogs must be collected by the adopting families, from Toowoomba or Brisbane. Transport cannot be arranged by Off The Chain K9 Rescue Qld. We appreciate your understanding.
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $75 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
