About Tessie
Hi my name is Tessie and I’m a 7year old Kelpie. I came all the way from a rural QLD pound in March where I had been for 3 months and was due to be pts the day Waggin Tails saved me. I am now living with my foster family and I love love love being in a family!
There’s lots I could tell you about myself but here are just a few… I love my foster family and am very loyal, especially to my foster Mumma. I love my morning walks, but sometimes because I like to bark and pull at trucks and vans as they go past, oh and fluffy little dogs. I walk well on the lead and I listen well. I love it when we go to the oval or on a bush walk where there is no one and I can be let off the lead to explore – I always stay close and come back when called.
Sometimes I get nervous of other dogs and people when we are out and about so my foster Mumma just avoids them as best we can, we just cross the road. I think they call me dog selective so I think a home where I am the only fur child would be best. I would also suit a home that has older teens or no children at all. Load noises or unexpected things make me nervous, Mumma says it may be due to my life before I came here.
I like spending time sleeping in the sun after a morning walk and then having another play, followed by lots of belly rubs and then another snooze... My foster family call me a slug… I think that means I’m a bit lazy! The kids at my house have tried to show me what a ball is but really, I’m not interested in it at all. Maybe its because I’m a bit older so I don’t have as much energy as younger friends.
I love going in the car for drives and am happiest when I am near my family. I am hoping to find a family that will allow me to come inside to share in their lives and preferably find one where I’m not by myself in a small backyard all day long.
I think some ongoing training would be awesome and help me learn my manners around other doggos.
I'd love to meet you!
