About Theo and Nala
š» ROOM FOR TWO CUDDLY BEARS? š»
Buckle up because these babies have a story! We would love for you all to meet Theodore and Nala - two perfectly imperfect kittens that are searching for a home. These are no ordinary kittens however! Aside from their ridiculously cute faces and deeply caring hearts, Theo and Nala are dealing with a few things that you should know about.
Unfortunately they have been battling with the dreaded ringworm, a common fungal infection that sends shivers down the spines of many! Something we canāt understand, because it doesnāt change who they are. Along with ringworm, Theo and Nala have also shown signs of upper respiratory infection, all of which are clearing well.
Our sweet duo have travelled over Perth since they came to us at a few hours old, originally coming from a hoarders home where their mother gave birth to them and found herself too stressed to be a mum, and we canāt blame her being surrounded by a number of unwell cats, unsanitary conditions and neglect. Theo and Nala were tube fed for a day as they had become very weak, whilst their mother Sassy spent the day at one of our clinics having ultrasounds and physical examinations done. They were so congested from being stuck inside a hoarding situation that it took weeks to clear her respiratory infections. Thankfully after being reunited with her kittens after a day in clinic, she was able to relax in a clean, quiet, loving environment where she didnāt have the stress of other animals and could breathe well enough to relax.
Sassy and her kittens were then sent to a longer term foster home, which unfortunately didnāt work out for long. At 9 weeks of age, Theo and Nala were sent to another carer to continue their treatment. Again, things unfortunately didnāt work out for Theo and Nala and they were today given back to their original carer that rescued them from the hoarding situation. What an adventure right! You can see why we are desperate to find a lovely, committed home for Theo and Nala where they can finally belong š„ŗ
As both kittens have done some travelling, they are very much well grounded and resilient. Nala can be a little shy at times but does love to be fussed over and cuddled. Theo is much the same, though he prefers to be the centre of the stage!
Theo and Nala have heavily reduced adoption fees for kittens their age, as they are still receiving medication for ringworm. Did you know that cats and kittens across the world are euthanised daily for simply having ringworm? Madness! And so treatable.
They have another specialist appointment tomorrow where their eyes will be reassessed and treatment plan adjusted. Potential adopters must:
š¾ Be willing to continue the treatment for ringworm, which includes medication once per day and a medicated wash twice per day
š¾ Transport Theo and Nala to future appointments over the next month
š¾ Keep them quarantined away from pets and children, and follow our quarantine guidelines
š¾ Preferably no other animals or children in the home
