About Maddie ~ 7yo Blue Cattledog (On Trial 12/6/20)
Hi, my name is Maddie and I am a 7 year old female Australian cattle dog (Blue). My owner recently passed away and I have found myself homeless, but don’t worry, I am being well cared for while Dog Rescue Newcastle help find me a new home.
I am house trained and I know basic commands like Sit, Stay, Wait (for dinner) and Down. I can be a bit timid with new people but with the reassurance of the people I trust I come around. I am be high energy however I do tire easily after a walk or having my ball thrown. I love playing fetch and tug-o-war.
Being a working breed, I require someone with sufficient time to exercise me daily. I am smart and a quick learner, and would easily pick up more tricks if my new owner wanted to teach me more. I am food and play motivated too which helps.
I currently live with another dog, but this is a new change. We often we don’t see eye to eye so while I will tolerate other dogs for small periods of time, I am looking for a home where I can be the only pet as that is what I am used to. I’m also not compatible with other pets such as cats and pocket pets.
I am ok with children however can get a little boisterous and may hurt them accidentally. I am ok to be left home alone and can stay outside, however when my owner is home I loves to be inside and with you as much as possible. I currently sleep inside in the living room and need to be allowed inside at least to sleep, and preferably when anyone is home.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
