About Zinc aka Blink
Blink is an adult cattle dog currently living in a large yard with other dogs. Blink is a special young man who came to us recently. A young slightly shy and anxious Australian Cattle Dog. The people who surrendered him originally, circumstances had changed and no longer had the time he needed. They were both working full time and Blink was starting to get into mischief. He has a nice quiet nature loves playing ball but is not obsessive about it. He is extremely smart and needs to be mentally stimulated; he also needs consistent rules and boundaries with a firm but fair hand. He needs to feel secure as he has anxiety issues so needs a very special home, preferably at this stage without children. He seems fine with all the dogs we have introduced him to so far. He is a little cautious with humans until he gets to know you and can be wary of men. He has been desexed microchipped and immunised. 953010002009360 Blink would be great at rallyo, obedience, herding, scenting, tracking and anything that requires a very smart dog as that is exactly what he is. He can play a little roughly but at the same time not wanting to hurt anyone or anything. He can also be very protective of his yard and human. Ideally he needs a single older female who is very experienced with dogs in a rural area who would like a very smart dog to train in a dog sport such as tracking or scenting or something similar. He really needs to use his brain.
Adoption details
HappyPaws Haven is fussy about who adopts these animals and where they are housed and cared for. The adoption criteria is documented as a questionnaire and strictly adhered to. We do not adopt animals to people who rent unless they are long term rental at the same address and have landlords written permission.
We ask if they have thought about the attributes they want in a dog, lifestyle, childrens ages, prepared to train, etc. We also talk about responsible pet ownership, fully fenced yards, hours unattended etc. and finally a vet reference.
