About Bagheera
š¾ HOUSE PANTHER LOOKING FOR LOVE š¾
Weāre not even kidding, he really is a house panther! Just look at that majestic glare. Our handsome Bagheera is just looking for a life with the bare necessities. A life where he can forget about his worries and his strife. Bagheera has retired from his life as a street king and is looking to settle down and enjoy the rest of his life with a relaxing companion.
Bagheera has not been in care for very long but has adjusted well. He was abandoned by his family along with at least 8 other cats and kittens, and finally rescued 3 months later. Unfortunately his previous owners didnāt sterilise him, so he had spent the last few years living rough on the street, fighting with other toms in the area. The fight wounds have given him a āsalt and pepperā kind of look, with lots of white specks through his coat (though they cannot easily be seen through his photos!).
Despite this, Bagheera has welcomed his foster friends into his life. They arenāt in direct contact with each other, but do say hello through cat netting. Bagheera has reacted positively to all of his foster friends and will adjust well to living with other felines that most likely wonāt show dominance over him, though he is a big sook š¤
Bagheera is weary of people after living with a family that didnāt give him the time and love he needed. He is not aggressive at all, and loves to get tasty treats from his carer, but may take time to let new people in. When he isnāt coming over cautiously for food, you will find him sitting a comfortable 1-2 metres away just watching you go about your day.
Bagheera will adjust well to most cats. He does not mind kids being around, but to our knowledge has not had much interaction with them. It is in Bagheeraās best interests to find a family with older children only. He has not met dogs, but should adjust to calm dogs when giving the right introductions.
Name: Bagheera
Age: ~5 years
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Suburb: Aveley
Adoption Fee: $160
Bagheeraās adoption fee includes sterilisation, microchip, vaccination, health check and he has also been treated for parasites.
Medical Note: Bagheera has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which is a virus that can potentially affect his immune system. FIV+ cats can still live a long and healthy life, however they do need to be kept indoors to prevent the spread of disease, which is passed most commonly through deep bite wounds. FIV+ cats can live comfortably with other cats, even those who do not have FIV, however slow introductions are required to ensure they do not fight.
