About Jimmy
***Edit 16th June 2020*** On behalf of UNC we would like to apologize for the delay in getting back to everyone as we have had over 350 enquiries about Jimmy. If you have sent an enquiry that DOES NOT detail your previous experience with anxious dogs and behavioural issues then, unfortunately, your messages will not be prioritised. We are still looking for the right home and parent/s for Jimmy and will begin holding interviews from mid this week. Ta. ****
Jimmy is a darling little boy. He has big romantic eyes and a smoochy personality to match. Jimmy is looking for a forever family to call his own. He is a happy, go-lucky little dude with high spirits and ready to jump into action any time! He has lots of energy to burn and would love to accompany you on any adventure. This energy is balanced out by his cuddly house trained demeanor - he really is just happy to be with you whether that is curled on the couch while you read a book or sprinting around with his toys while you tend to the garden.
Jimmy will best suit an active owner who will give him the daily chance to show off his leg muscles and bullet speed before retiring on the couch with a warm cup of tea and a blankie. Jimmy loves to curl up by the fire, by your feet, or in the sun and his squishy and fluffy build is perfect for anyone who is looking for a cuddle buddy before winter comes.
Jimmy needs a predictable environment, as loud noises and sudden movements can sometimes stress him out. He is currently taking medication for his anxiety and this will need to be continued long term within his furrever home. Jimmy can sometimes be unpredictable, but he is small which makes his behaviour easy to correct, especially if his new owner is conscious and on the lookout for any potential risks. Jimmy will need stern and disciplined boundary-setting along with his medication to help guide him into a balanced and loving happy life. Preference will be given to applicants who have had experience with dog training and anxiety before.
Jimmy has a huge heart for such a small dog. He really will love you with every inch of his tiny body, so we are looking for someone who is able to do the same. If you think you can provide Jimmy with lots of affection, lots of adventure and lots of guidance then please contact UNC today!
Medical notes
Jimmy takes ongoing medication that helps him manage anxiety and has been a chill kid for some time now! (fluoxetine 10mg) He will need time, patience, and discipline to settle into his new home.
