About Norma
My name is Norma and I am a lovely friendly 13 year old female ACD cross. I am a beautiful gentle old lady, with a grey muzzle and searching old eyes. Foster mum raves about the beautiful colours on my coat, and I’ve got a lovely floofy tail. Did you notice my quirky pudgy little ears in my profile picture? After a bit of a rough patch, I’m ready to retire with someone who wants to while away the days with me during the twilight stage of my life.
I am sensible and mature, low energy, and pretty much a no-hassles kind of old gal. My needs are simple. I’m not demanding but I’d love to be given healthy meals and a comfy place to rest during the day while I ponder life. I love to explore the garden, and once I get the hang of walking on a lead, I reckon I could manage a lap of the block. Most of all, I just want to be with my hooman. I can offer you lots in return. I can make you always feel welcome when you come home. I can go for drives with you on outings to keep you company. I can put my head on your lap to tell you that you are loved (I give nice kisses). I can be your reason to get out into the great outdoors. I can clean up your table scraps. I can be your friend and faithful companion, and I will make your house feel like a home. If you ever need someone to talk to, I’m happy for you to offload your thoughts to me, and I won’t ever tell anybody your secrets.
I like to be able to see what’s going on around the place but I’m not an ‘in your face’ personality. In my foster home I have been spending time both inside and outside with several other dogs very contentedly. At night time I sleep on a really comfy bed in the laundry and I have never made a noise overnight, or a mess inside. It took me a week or so to get the hang of the routine here with the fosters, but I understand it now so life with me is easy.
When it comes to cats…..well…..I do chase them, but I’m not very fast or agile so the cats here with my foster family jump out of the way and I just look at them.
I am in good condition for my senior age. The vet did say that I could do with a couple less kilos which I’m a bit embarrassed about. I am on daily medication for arthritis, but it’s no big deal. It just makes it easier for me to get around more comfortably.
Before I came into foster care, life had been a bit up and down, but I’ve settled in really well with my foster family. I’ve been told that the next stage of my return to happiness will be when I am adopted into my forever home where I can just soak up the love and give lots of love back in return. I can’t wait for that day to come.
Love and kisses
X Norma.
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we may not respond to your enquiry if you do not complete the application form in full.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
***Please note - due to COVID19, Interstate adoptions have been suspended except for those between NSW and VIC, that do not cause extra unnecessary movement or socialisation of people. Meet & greets will not proceed as normal, and we have implemented protocols for hand over of dogs being adopted locally, to ensure the safety and protection of our adopters and our volunteers. We appreciate your understanding and working with us through this difficult time.
