About Rusty
Hi, my name is Rusty. I’m a handsome red Kelpie X Australian Cattle dog boy, and I’m about six years old.
I’m a very smart boy, with a big loving heart. I’m sociable with people and other dogs. Though I’m most loving with my own special humans, I bond quickly with new people who get to know me.
More than anything else, I love running and chasing balls – any balls, but nice bouncy, chewy balls are my favourite thing in the world. I love going for walks with my foster brothers too, especially nice relaxed bush walks, and I love spending time with my family and getting pats and attention. I’m happy to sit near my foster Mum and do nothing at all if she’s occupied. (I would quite like to sit on her lap but she doesn’t seem too keen on that!)
I’m quite content in the back garden with my foster brothers during the day if my Mum is at work. In the evening I absolutely love to come indoors with the family, and I’m well behaved indoors. I’m quite okay with the cats that live here too, because I just ignore them.
My foster Mum thinks I’m a really polite boy, and I walk really well on the lead and my recall is good. If someone calls me, I’m there in a flash! I travel well in the car too. I’m learning some other new things as well, such as staying until I’m told I can eat my dinner. Foster Mum says that I am quick to learn and I’m looking forwarding to doing some more training, as I’m so eager to please my humans. My foster family think that I’m a pleasure to have around, as I’m so easy going.
I’m ready to find my very own forever home now. I’m not fussy about what sort of family they are or where they live, as long as they have enough space for me to chase a ball! I really would love to have a home where I would be able to spend a lot of time with my special person or family, as I am one of those dogs who is very focused on his people. I wouldn’t mind having another dog or dogs around, but I am really more focused on my people rather than the other dogs. As long as I get some human company, a ball game and a walk or two every day, I would be happy! A home where we went out and about together on adventures would be perfect, as I love jumping into the car ready for a trip!
I know that there’s a special person out there who will be a perfect fit for me.
If you are looking for an active, loyal, loving best friend I could be the dog you are looking for! My foster Mum will be able to tell you more good things about me! I can’t wait to meet you!

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
1. You see a dog you like.
2. Fill in our online adoption form by clicking here or on our website. Be sure to include any questions you may have on our adoption form. This form does not obligate you to adopt, it simply gives us an idea of your situation and needs.
http://farmdogz.com.au/adoption-application-form/
3. If your are successful, one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you are welcome to return the dog (the more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be retunded to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.
**PLEASE NOTE: WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US BEFORE FILLING IN OUR ONLINE ADOPTION FORM**.
We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
