About Willow. $200. Available to Foster
Willow is a stunning, gentle little girl who's desperate to get out of our shelter and into a foster or forever home but she needs a special human to help her find her feet.
Willow is a timid sweetheart but wants so desperately to be your friend. In her group pen at she waits politely in the background for food and the more dominant cats chomp most of it down before she can get any, and as food is one of the ways we teach the cats to build confidence in being patted, Willow hanging in the background all the time means she misses out on these development opportunities. We make sure she gets her own bowl but even then she's so happy to have our focus on her for a moment, that she ignores the food and spends her time rubbing her head and beautiful tail on whatever furniture is close by to show us how much she wants to be patted. Its beautiful and adorable and you can see her just wanting to take that step but it still being frightening for her <3
Once out of her busy pen where the confident cats take the spotlight, she'll blossom and be an affectionate, playful little girl. So we're looking for a foster or forever home that's quiet, with one or two humans with experience with timid cats and a willingness to join Willow in her development journey over a period of a few months.
** Willow's eyes are always wide open, our volunteers nicknamed her 'Surprise!' as she always looks shocked. She's not, its just how she is, and we love her for it. We know that you will too :)
Medical notes
Willow needs to be strictly an indoor cat as she'd be terrified and impossible to catch if let outside. She's also fully black which is harder for vehicles to see.

Some more info about us:
Sunny Days began in 2017 and runs a self funded rehab shelter for stray cats in Lara, halfway between Melbourne and Geelong, Victoria. 90% of the animals rehomed through Sunny Days are rescued and rehabilitated ‘true stray’ cats; cats who’ve grown up wild, with very little or no experience with humans. To our knowledge there is no other rescue group or shelter in Australia specialising solely in the medical and psychological rehabilitation of stray and feral cats.
Our aim is to rescue, humanely rehabilitate and appropriately rehome cats and kittens who would otherwise be ignored, hit by cars, baited, euthanised or die alone of illness or hunger. We see each cat as an individual, requiring it's own individualised rehoming program and the right type of home for their level of rehab and temperament. We also provide support to local cat owners who require assistance to desex and provide a safe home for their cat, and actively work with the community, vet clinics and other industry professionals to decrease the stray cat problem.

Our shelter runs at a loss due to the type of animals we take in - terrified cats who need months if not years of care, and often hundreds more in medical treatment than we can adopt them out for. Shelter running costs are about $1600 p/month. We fund this excess out of our own pockets because we believe the cats deserve a chance. If you could help us cover some of these costs we’d be hugely grateful! Please see below for ways you can contribute <3
* A once off, or small monthly transfer to our account below to assist us with shelter running costs and medical care. Account: Sunny Days / 063512 / 10988226.

* A cash donation in person at our shelter or via one of our team members. Please contact us to be sent a list of trustworthy team members’ locations.
