Although a very sweet little dude, Glenny has some behavioural issues and quirks to match. A complex little soul who needs someone to love him for the dog he is now and the dog he could be with the right owner!
Glenny is an incredibly smart little dog and thrives on learning new tricks. He has already learnt drop, shake, beg, spin, and back up, as well as going through tunnels and weaving in and out of your legs. A food focused little dude who’d make a great little agility dog for the right person.
He picks up and adapts to new thing quickly and needs a structured lifestyle. His new family will need to be willing to put in the hard yards with training, understanding that his behavioural issues are not an over night fix. Even though they will and have improved, management will always be key.
So what are they, you ask!
Glenny was a little monster when he first arrived in care and would growl, snarl or bite when he didn’t get his way or was unsure of the environment he was placed in, causing a fear reaction.
Make no mistake he can simply be a jerk when allowed to get away with it but also can be fearful. As I said a complex little dude.
This guy has come along in leaps and bounds with understanding what is expected of him both building confidence in some areas and altering behaviour in others, along with management. Glenny likes to meet and greet people out and about, enjoying a good pat or two although in the home is where his behavioural issues rear their ugly head.
Glenny was also initially a resource guarder with both food and toys. This behaviour has improved with time and training though will no doubt always show its self from time to time particularly with items he classes as high value. Management will be the key in this Sanrio.
Glenny loves the outdoors exploring what the world has to offer. He enjoys playing with toys, sitting in the sunshine or rolling in the grass. He doesn’t mind the company of other quiet dogs Though can take it or leave it. Full on dogs he will let them know he isn’t happy with them in his face.
He can also live with a dog savvy cat.
Glenny is crate trained and sleeps in there of a night time. It’s his safe place and he loves it. Glenny isn’t allowed on the furniture as this assists with his ongoing training so his new owner will need to continue this, as least until they establish trust and boundaries which will take some time. Unless a trainer yourself, Glenny will need to have a training session with our trainer (at cost to you) upon adoption and will be on an extended trial period.
This guys needs someone to give him a shot, but he is not for your first time dog owner and needs an experienced family to take him on - a family willing to do what it takes without giving up at the first hurdle! Because believe me, to begin with their will be plenty! You need to be able to envision the light at the end of the tunnel and the ripper little dog he can be.
As mentioned he is looking for an experienced family, a family without young children or near future plans to have them, at least for the time being. An adult only home is what we are seeking for Glenny at this stage.
Yes he is little, cute and super cuddly, but please do not apply if you cannot offer Glenny what he needs.
We will take our time finding what we feel is the most suitable home for Glenny and this may not be you, so if it isn’t you may not hear from us and we wish you all the very best finding your new furry friend!
If you can offer this lad the home he so deserves please email theinbetweenersanimalrescue@gmail.com ONLY

Adoption details
Please email us a little about your self and living situation. One of our members will then touch base and potentially send you an adoption application form to fill out and return. Please not it is not a first in best dressed situation we will choose the family we feel can offer Glenny the home he is after. Please understand it may take a few days for us to get back to you as we are volunteers and have other commitments as well.
PLEASE NOTE:
When we say Glenny needs an experienced home to continue his training we mean just that. Someone who has had a rescue dog or two before most likely won’t be able to meet his needs. Don’t get us wrong its fantastic your all choosing to adopt rather than shop it’s just Glenny compared to most dogs needs a very particular home. You need to be confident and capable, not necessarily be a trainer your self but willing to attend training and have a large amount of dog experience/ understanding/ Willingness and general dog savvy ness.
If Glenny isn’t the dog for you we wish you all the best finding your new fury friend.
Phone calls and emails may not be answered after work hours. Please respect we are all volunteers who have jobs and families.
