About George
Many of you will remember the 10 Border Collies who came to us a few days before Christmas. Starved and neglected, they had lived their entire lives on 30cm chains. It was a miracle that they were alive, some of them weighing under 7kg, around on third of the weight of a healthy Border Collie. These dogs had never known human kindness, a full tummy or the freedom to move around, their lives had been a hell that most of us cannot even imagine. These dogs had no idea of even the most basic thing. They couldn’t walk more than 3 steps in any direction, they were used to having a chain holding them back. They didn’t understand different textures of food, they had only even had a handful of food thrown to them a couple of times a week. They didn’t understand bowls or clean water or houses. They were terrified of everything, the slightest noise or smell or movement evoked total panic. It was heartbreaking. They would urinate and defecate if approached, they would only eat when nobody was around, everything a normal dog does was foreign to them. Many asked if they would ever become loving pets and to be honest, there were times that even we didn’t know what their futures would hold but gradually, all of these dogs learned to love and be loved. Most of them have now been adopted and now we are excited to announce that Divine Dave and George and ready for their chances. Whilst they will never be the size of normal Border Collies due to their extreme lack of nutrition, they both have all of the wonderful Border Collie traits. George is much more outgoing. He is slightly taller than his brother and not quite as wide. George will be turning 2 in June. George is lots of fun, he is playful and gets along very well with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. He can be a little shy but he gets over it extremely fast and would love to be part of an active, loving home. These boys are now officially available for adoption.
