About Jema
Jema needs a specific type of home. Please read completely before enquiring.
Due to current Covid restrictions we are only taking enquiries from people outside of Melbourne.
About Jema:
Knows how to sit, stay, lay down, and "leave it"
Very very very sweet and very cuddly and affectionate. Happiest taking a nap with her humans on the couch at the end of the day.
She's very food motivated, which makes training much easier!
Jema's perfect home:
-Her owners have experience with anxious/reactive dogs and will seek the help of a professional trainer to continue the work her carers have put in.
-Older or no children.
-No other animals.
-She's the only dog in the household, she seems happier and more relaxed when she's the only dog around. She is not suited to a home with other animals.
-In a quiet area without too many dogs around, so she has a chance to slowly get used to seeing other dogs while out and about without getting overwhelmed.
-Not suited to dog parks etc
Where she currently lives, there are dogs all over the place, and every walk is quite intense. Her carers are working on the reactivity using tools and exercises provided by the behaviorist and we're seeing slow and steady improvement.
True to her Staffy nature, she loves company and would be very happy with a family who have lots of time to offer her games and lots of company
As we get to know Jema, we can now see that she will be extremely happy in a home where she has a family who want to share their lifestyle with their dogs. She prefers the indoor life and is used to the security of sleeping inside over night.
She enjoys company and considering her breed, she will not settle well being on her own for long periods
Obedience training or one on one professional help is essential for Jema in her new home and it's part of her adoption agreement.
A medium-large yard would be a good fit for Jema and secure fencing will be a must.
We look forward to hearing from you if you have the perfect home for this sweet young lady.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
