About Smokey ~ Kelpie x Cattle puppy (On Trial 5/4/20)
Smokey is a beautiful 10 week old Kelpie x Stumpy tail cattle puppy. He has only been with DRN a short time, but in this time he has shown that he is a happy, healthy boy who loves affection and attention.
Smokey is very clever, loves exploring and his foster mum thinks he will respond very well to training. He has already learnt to sit at meal times and is also chasing a ball. He is used to being around children and other dogs, and will be a wonderful family dog. He is suitable for children 7 years and older.
Smokey is going to be a medium-sized dog and full of energy so his forever home will need to be equipped to handle the energy level of a working breed and understand that stimulation is extremely important to keep this boy from getting into too much mischief. It would also be good if someone in the household doesn't work full time.
Smokey needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. You will need good fencing with no small gaps, unfortunately rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire) is not suitable.
As Smokey is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Smokey, please contact Sarah at sarahsrescues@gmail.com . Smokey is in the Lake Macquarie area, NSW (south of Newcastle). You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
Smokey's adoption fee is $550 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms.
Medical notes

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
