Young Cali has had quite the ordeal in such a short life. Cali was rescued by a regional pound after rangers received an anonymous call about some dogs that had been abandoned in a house. They seized two dogs, one of which was Cali but sadly the third had passed away before they arrived. Cali was clearly a happy and friendly girl but very timid. The thing that stood out the most about her was her very swollen and blue eye which appeared to have no function left. It looked as though she had been living with it for quite some time, and although inflamed she was not too bothered by it. Angel-Paws inc were more than happy to take Cali under our wing (well paw) and for the sake of comfort we had her eye removed. Due to not having full range of sight she is very cautious about being approached from behind, however we think this is something she will overcome once in a trusting environment. Now nicknamed Winky she is feeling much better and is looking for a fresh start. She loves other dogs and is still getting used to friendly humans but is definitely keen to be part of a happy family.
