About Suzie
This is Suzie!
Suzie came to Peggy’s as a wee pup and lucky she did. She had a necrotic infection in her knee joint which caused the knee cap to deform causing her great pain.
After months of treatment it was decided to remove her rear leg.
This slowed her down for all of two days. Two weeks on she is thriving, and you wouldn’t even notice she was down to three legs. I’m sure she actually runs faster now then she did before she had the leg removed. She can still be a bit awkward when walking or getting up from the down position but all in all she is doing amazingly!!
Suzie loves to be cradled like a baby and to have her belly rubbed. She is affectionate with all, big and small and is not fearful of small children as she has grown up with them.
She has grown up with four cats in the home and knows they are not to be played with which her foster mum thinks is very clever given the cattle dog in her.
She loves to play with her big doggy sister and would chase all day if sis would let her.
Because Suzie had so much trouble to start she hasn’t had much socialising with dogs out side of the home or lead walking. So she can be a bit anxious around new doggy friends to start. We are going to have some training now that she has been given the all clear and the leg is fixed.
This girl would suit an active family looking for a loyal companion. She loves attention and would smother you with affection if you let her.
Her favourite part of the day is when she can jump on the lounge and have her belly rubbed.
Medical notes
Suzie is a tripod- she only has three legs. This does not slow her down or stop her. The surgery was done really well and has healed fantastically
