About Coco
*FOSTER TO ADOPT*
I was surrendered to Lort Smith when my previous carers were no longer in a position to provide me with the attention that I need. They knew that the best thing for me would be to put me into the caring hands of the Lort Smith staff, to help me find my perfect new home.
I am an affectionate and energetic girl who would love nothing more than going to a quiet home where I will be able to reside indoors and be a part of a family. My ideal home would be with someone that either works from home, can take me to work with them or is retired, as I don’t like being left alone for too long.
I may be a senior gal, but I still have plenty of energy left in my batteries. If you are able to take me on daily walks and offer me some playtime, you are ticking some important boxes!
I would love for my adopter to continue building my confidence when left alone, around new people, other animals, environments, objects and sounds. I can get a little worried with loud noises such as thunderstorms and fireworks, so working on making these noises something I associate with positive experiences, would be just wonderful!
I do prefer the company of people over other animals and tend to get a little jealous if the other pet is getting attention from my humans, so a home with no other furry friends would be the perfect fit for me! I would prefer to be in a home without young children as I can get easily overwhelmed and anxious.
I am currently on some anxiety medication that I am slowly being weaned off. As this will take a couple weeks and regular vet checks, I am being advertised as a foster to adopt. This means that whilst I am getting these check-ups, the hospital will cover all the cost and you get to enjoy my company (talk about a win-win)!
I also take medicine for skin allergies. This stops me from becoming itchy and scratching. The friendly staff can chat to you about that.
If you think I sound like the perfect fit for you, and you have a Coco shaped space on your couch, please call the Adoption Hub for more info and to tee up a meet and greet.
Medical notes
