About George (In foster home)
This is George. George is divine. We are under strict instructions on what type of home he can go to. And that’s only the most perfect one. George is to go to someone special, who needs their heart filled with love and companionship, that needs the no-hassle, easy-going, ready-made companion to give them a reason to wake up every day.
George will only go to a retired couple or single retired person with no other dogs. Not for any reason such as he can't be left alone - he can - and he likes other dogs, but for the reason that he deserves to be loved each and every day of his life and his job is to love you back and make your heart sing.
George has days where he literally won’t get out of bed. On these days, he loves nothing more than for you to hop in bed with him and tell him stories of your memories to make both of you smile. On the days he does get out of bed, he needs his hooman to understands that he would like to place his blanket where he wants, which may change each day, and that you are not to take it personally. No need to worry too much about that though - he will decide where the blanket goes each day.
Dogs like George are rare and for this reason, we will honour his owner's wishes and that is a retired person/couple, no other dogs, who have love to give and are looking for the complete, beautifully natured quiet companion to share their days (and lunch) with. Please only apply if you are prepared to keep in touch with his current owners with photos and the odd text message letting them know about him as this is a truly hard decision for them to have made. They would love to have him back for boarding if you go away so George can see them and his old mates if you are from the area.
George has been caught up in the fires in some pretty horrific, chaotic situations and was evacuated 3 times. With each evacuation, he just accepted and was no bother to anyone. He is currently in a foster home, house trained and is completely pet ready to go on trial now, pending approval by all of us of course. So if you can tick all the boxes above, are prepared to be interviewed and have a big heart, a great lunch menu and are happy to join him not getting out of bed on the odd day- send us a message and let's talk…...
and not cats or other animals please.
Medical notes
Current C5 vaccination and has just had a dental clean.
Adoption details
All greyhounds are desexed, vaccinated and have a full dental before rehoming. They are also lifetime registered in New South Wales once they have settled into their new homes.
****Cats***** - Our regional dogs are not tested with cats due to not having the facility or resources. For that reason, we are unable to place any of our dogs in a cat home. For a cat-friendly greyhound, please contact our head office at gapnsw.com.au to go on the waitlist.
