About Coco
There is times in rescue that one furbaby just steals your heart – Coco is that girl.
Coco is a 12 year old daschund who is looking for a quiet place to retire.
Coco's requirements are
* No stairs / no decks / no hard access to getting outside to go to the toilet.
* Small quiet dogs only (or no other dogs)
* A bed in the one area that she knows where it is and she can access as she pleases.
* Someone home more often than not to be able to monitor her movements and
access to outside.
* Whilst Coco would like to go for a walk - her walk would consist of a very slow
paced walk of no more than 10 metres - she tires out very easily.
Coco came into care with dental issues and skin tags – she had a dry coat and was in desperate need of some TLC – Whilst in care Coco has had a lot of dental work completed on her (she now only has 5 teeth left – so a good diet is a must!) She has also had skin tags removed and is doing very well.
Coco is partially deaf and mostly blind – she is very slow and cautious in her movements but we have been watching her blossom as she learns her home layout and even picks up a toy to play with now and then.
She will need a home where she can access outside at her leisure (no stairs) - however because of her age and sight issues she does have inside accidents occasionally.
Coco is very easy going and likes other dogs being around however this is not a necessity.
Coco would prefer a home where she is able to move at the snail pace she does – have a quiet life snoozing in her bed and just been able to be loved and made to feel safe.
Coco is not a fan of cats (we think it’s the rubbing up against her that worries her).
We will be asking for a home with no young children that live there 24/7
Whilst Coco has no separation anxiety due to her age, speed and sight we will be requesting some one who is home more often than not with a set up safe for her so she doesn’t get stuck outside in the cold or hot sun. - Coco has been known to think it’s okay to sunbake so due to her age and condition she does need monitoring in extreme weathers.
Coco is currently in care with a carer who has other dogs that all go for walks – Coco does enjoy going for a walk – so her foster mum and coco do a slow walk each day to the letterbox and back inside – it’s a joy Coco likes and we would love for that to continue for her – simple things in life make Coco happy.
If you think you could provide Coco with her furever home please apply
