Tess is a beautiful, intelligent and lovable girl who is great with other dogs. She has a gentle nature and is playful with both humans and other canines alike.
Tess loves going for car rides and being included in family adventures. Anywhere you’re going, she wants to come too, especially if it means getting to explore new places! She is currently learning how to play with toys and basically be a dog. She would be best rehomed with another dog with whom she can play and learn from. Tess knows some basic commands, including sit, drop, shake with both front feet, and roll over. She is a smart cookie, and very willing to please, so with a bit of time and patience she will benefit greatly from obedience training.
Tess is very afraid of thunderstorms and bad weather (wind, heavy rain). If she is left unattended in the backyard during a storm, she will dig or jump/climb fences to try and escape. Her new home must be willing to put measures in place to stop her from escaping and work with her through her anxiety during storms.
Tess wouldn't suit the lifestyle of a full-time worker. She will be suited to a home without cats or other small animals due to her curiosity and tendency to chase. She needs daily exercise and walks wonderfully on a harness. She enjoys playing tug-o-war with dogs and/or humans and is quite active. Tess enjoys going to the dog park, meeting new dogs and running around.
Tess is a very loyal and loving dog who will make someone very happy. Tess would love to be part of an active family that have time to share their love and affection. She will lap up every bit of it, and return it in spades.
Thank you to Heather of Dixon Dog Photography for the fantastic photos of
Tess.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
