About Archie ~ 8yo Terrier mix (On Trial 12/12/19)
Hello there! My name us Archie and I would describe myself as a having a BIG personality trapped in a tiny body. I'm an 8 year old, mixed breed boy and I'm looking for my forever home this Christmas.
Now I want to talk about my health.
I came into care very unwell and needed big operations on my mouth. Part of my bottom jaw is now missing but mum says chicks dig blokes with scars so I don't let it worry me. I eat a diet of mostly soft food just fine.
My back kneecaps don't stay in place and I'm bow legged. I'm not in any pain from them and they don't carry much weight as I'm so tiny. Lets just say that I've got plenty of swagger!
Dog Rescue Newcastle has made sure that I have been given the very best of health care and the vet has given me an all clear. Just like any doggo I will need regular vet visits which will include a dental check, but no operations or procedures are predicted. I'm healthy and happy and mum says I'm very special and that my new family will love me just the way I am!
My foster mum has nursed me when I was sick, fussed over me, taken me to appointments and hand fed me when I had trouble eating. She even helped me write this bio. I think she's real nice and all... but I just like dad better! He gives me an occasional scruffy pat and leaves his smelly clothes on the floor for me to nap on. He lets me sit next to him on the couch and we watch cricket for hours. He calls me Arch, coz we're buds. I would like it if my new family was chilled like him.
I have fur sisters here and I get along great with them. I wound be willing to meet any future fur siblings. They probably need to be small like me. I would not want to be squashed by accident.
I'm mostly toilet trained, except when the grass is too long or it's raining. I don't like wet feet.
I often have bad dreams at night. Not the gentle leg twitch kind though. These are the growling, barking, screaming kind. Dad gives me a bit of a pat before it gets too bad. Just enough to wake me up and then we go straight back to sleep. I will need someone who can be patient with me and willing to let me sleep near you. Maybe even on the foot of your bed.
I don't know any tricks but I have great recall and always come when you call me. I am aware that I'm tiny and I don't get under your feet when you walk. I'm not a barker but will give a happy yap greeting when you walk in the door.
My former life was cruel and unfair. My new home simply must be able to offer love and compassion and companionship.
Archie is located in Fletcher NSW and his adoption fee is $300. He is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
You can ask his foster mum Kylie any questions or email the adoption questionnaire to her direct on archie.drn@outlook.com . You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
