About Bart 🐻
Introducing Bart, our sweet little Great Dane x. Bart is currently being fostered in a home with his sister Belinda, 1 host dog, and of course his humans (which includes children). Bart has also been exposed to cats during his time in care and shown no interest in them at all. Bart is a sook and loves the company of his humans and being cuddled or cuddling up next to you. Bart is quiet and reserved in comparison to his sister. He enjoys belly rubs and human interaction more than anything!
Bart is crate trained at night and is learning the routine in his foster home. He has shown no food aggression or dominance while in foster care and will ideally suit a large yard or property for him to be able to stretch his legs!
We are looking for a family or person who understands large breeds. Bart loves chilling out in his kennel but would need continued socialisation with other dogs during the puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that he grows up to be a well mannered and socialised boy.
We would love to help get you started with training, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Due to Bart’s size/breed, we will be allowing him to be re-homed under a desex agreement. This will mean that Bart must be returned to one of our approved vets on the Central Coast for desexing, no later than 11th of April 2020 (6 months old). We have consulted a number of vets who have all confirmed this is an appropriate age for the breed/size. For this reason, there will be no interstate adoptions and we will be ideally looking for a home on the Central Coast.
Bart is located in Hamlyn Terrace on the Central Coast NSW. He comes Microchipped, Vaccinated (1st vacc), vet checked, wormed and flea/tick treated. Bart will be ready to head off to his forever home next week....

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
