About Danny
All About Me and My Unique Personality:
Danny is a Red Cattle x Mastiff and is a teddy bear! His idea of heaven is laying in your lap being smothered in cuddles and affection.
He is such a social affectionate pup. Always right in the middle of what ever is going on!
Sadly, he has spent much of his short life in the RSPCA so is only now starting to experience life outside of those walls. He is quite timid by nature and startled by loud noises (motor bikes, trucks etc) that he has never experienced previously.
He adores the company of other dogs and being in their company goes a long way to bring him out of his shell. He is not suitable as an only dog.
He is nervous of meeting new people (who isn’t really?) and takes a little bit of gentle encouragement and patience to let you give him that first scratch behind the ear. But watch out once you do, because he will not let you stop at one!
My Ideal Home:
As I mentioned Danny is needs the company of at least one other dog. He is very playful and the company of another pup goes a long way to reduce his stress and shyness.
Until he is confident to go for walks / runs all of his exercise is gained by running and playing in a yard. Being such a big boy he needs lots of space to stretch those legs.
He isn’t a jumper so a standard 5ft colour bond fence would be fine.
He is very social and just wants to be part of the family, so a home that will allow him to come inside with them of an evening and sit with you while you watch tv etc would be ideal. He is quite happy to sit on a mat at your feet of an evening, just being content to be in your company.
What is Known About My Background:
Danny arrived at the RSPCA as quite a young pup. He remained there until being rescued by HAR. He has never know a life without the company of other dogs. For such a big boy he is quite submissive and timid by nature. He was absolutely terrified when he arrived in my home having been in the RSPCA for so long without much human contact/ affection or the chance to experience much of the world. It took a few days to help him settle and gain his trust. Over the past month I have watched such a sweet, happy, affectionate and playful pup emerge. He has become such a big part of our family and it feels like he has been here forever.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
He is inquisitive of my 15 year old cat but gets a swift bop on the nose when ever he gets too close. There is no aggression in their interactions, Danny just wants to play!
He loves it when my neighbours ( 11 and 13) jump the dense to come and play
